Employers are required to display several notice posters informing workers of labor laws in Illinois.

Prevailing Wage Rates

Certified Transcript of Payroll

The prevailing wage rates required to be paid for work performed on or after December 16, 2024, on public works projects in each county.

The Illinois Department of Labor is charged with developing and maintaining an online portal for prevailing wage construction contractors to file their certified payrolls with the department.

Overtime Exemption

When determining whether an employee is exempt or non-exempt from receiving overtime, employers in Illinois need to review their employee's classification against both the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Illinois Minimum Wage Law.

Payroll Cards

The use of electronic payroll debit or credit cards as a method of paying employees their wages and final compensation is acceptable in Illinois but only if certain factors are met.

Equal Pay Registration Certificate (EPRC)

Illinois law requires private businesses with 100 or more employees in the State of Illinois* to submit an application to obtain an Equal Pay Registration Certificate (EPRC) by providing certain pay, demographic, and other data to the Illinois Department of Labor

ECA Reporting Requirement Submission

Any contractor who had construction services performed for it in a calendar year by an individual, sole proprietorship or partnership that is not an employee of the contractor must file a report with the Department of Labor or the contractor will be in Violation. 

Apprenticeship Survey Submission

Pursuant to the State Construction - Minority and Female Building Trades Act  (30 ILCS 577/Article 35), all construction apprenticeship programs in Illinois are required to annually submit information to the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) regarding the race, gender, ethnicity, and national origin of all apprentices participating in the program.
